Jury & Awards

The jury:

 

The jury of this year's competition consists of renowned representatives of the Early Music scene, publishing and media world. The seven jury members are Midori Seiler, renowned violinist and University Professor of Baroque Violin at the Mozarteum Salzburg (Austria), Prof. Anne Röhrig, Professor at the Musikhochschule Nuremberg and Artistic Director of the Hannoversche Hofkapelle (Hanover Court Orchestra),  Prof. h. c. Barbara Scheuch-Vötterle, Managing Director at Bärenreiter-Verlag, Gabriele Hertz-Eichenrode, Editor (retd.) NDR Kultur, Angela Brünjes, Department of Culture and Campus, Göttinger Tageblatt, Māris Kupčs, Riga Early Music Centre / eeemerging, and Tobias Wolff, Managing Director, Göttingen Int. Handel Festival.

 

The prizes will be:

  • Award of the Göttinger Händel-Gesellschaft e.V., which comes with € 5,000 plus the Prizewinners’ concert on May 15, 2017, which forms part of the Göttingen International Handel Festival 2017
  • Bärenreiter Urtext Prize
  • Audience award
  • If applicable, invitation to participate in the eeemerging project
